This is the second lithographic print in the series ‘nest’, thinking through memories of my Mum plaiting mine and my sister’s hair everyday before school, alongside ideas of shelter, security and the complexities of care-giving. It looks so tender, but it was a painful routine! The title refers to my childhood growing up in the East Midlands. I hope the work connects with other peoples memories and interactions with loved ones.
